Stokes wins Sports Personality of the Year

England Cricketer Ben Stokes has won the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year Award for 2019. 

The all-rounder won the man-of-the-match award in the World Cup final after the incredible win over New Zealand to give England their first World Cup title.

His 135* in the third Ashes Test against Australia that saw his team to a huge one-wicket win and kept them in the series that ended up tied at 2-2.

Dina Asher-Smith finished third and Lewis Hamilton was runner-up in a incredible year for British sport.

Stokes follows fellow all-rounder Andrew Flintoff as he becomes the first cricketer to win the award since Flintoff's in 2005.
