Australia reach final in tight win over England

Australia women beat England by just 5 runs to reach another World T20 final, successfully defending 132-6.

Meg Lanning hit 55 and Alyssa Healy 25 from just 15 balls as England's poor fielding cost them. Two missed run outs, including Lanning early on as well as sloppy ground fielding gave Australia much needed momentum.

Once again, England's openers set a strong platform, putting on 67 with Charlotte Edwards scoring 31 and Tammy Beaumont 32 but the middle order collapsed. Needing 45 from the final 7 overs, with 9 wickets in hand they fell 5 runs short of their target.

It was another example of the frailties in England's middle order, after losing 9-50 against the West Indies and 7-50 against India in the group stages.

Australia - looking to win their fourth straight title - will play either New Zealand or West Indies in the final on Sunday in Kolkata.
