Vince selected for First test against Sri Lanka

James Vince and Jake Ball have been selected for the first test against Sri Lanka, starting at Headingly on Thursday 19th.

James Vince has been in fine form in the County Championship

After the enforced retirement of James Taylor, Vince was widely expected to take his place in the top 5, and the selectors seem to agree. 

Jake Ball will also be looking to make his debut, having taken 19 wickets in the County Championship for Nottinghamshire and impressing on the televised game against champions Yorkshire. 

Despite his poor early season form and indifferent tour of South Africa, Nick Compton has kept his place in the side and Alex Hales is expected to open with Alistair Cook despite his lack of runs in SA.
