Virat Kohli's unbeaten 50 has left India in a seemingly unassailable position in the second test against England.
Starting the day 103-5, Ben Stokes and Johnny Bairstow steadily built their partnership before Bairstow (53) was bowled by Umesh Yadav to break a stand of 110, a partnership that made them the most prolific in the world this year with 772 runs when batting together.
Stokes went on to score 70, and Adil Rashid 32 not out as they shepherded the tail to within 200 runs of India's score of 455. Ravi Ashwin took 5-67 as he showed his bowling credentials to add to his half-century with the bat.

The tourists hit back hard and had India 40-3, but Kohli looked a class apart as he extended his side's overnight lead to almost 300.
At some point on the fourth day, likely when Kohli feels the pitch has deteriorated enough to ensure England won't be able to cope with the world class spin bowling that they will be faced with for likely over four sessions,
The tourists must hope for Kohli to wait too long till he puts them in, and the pitch to have many less demons than predicted. It would also take an inspired knock from anyone from the top-order, namely Alistair Cook or Joe Root, to take England close to saving the test.
It makes for an interesting prospect as days four and five unfold, with any kind of collapse potentially losing them the match.
All the cards are in India's hand, but can England pull off what could be one of their greatest saving's of a test match on the subcontinent.
