England recall Defoe

Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe has been recalled to the England squad over 3 years after his last appearance.

Jermain Defoe returns to the England squad for the first
time in over 3 years.
The 34 year old is the second highest scoring Englishman this season with 14 goals, behind only Harry Kane who has 19 to his name, despite his club team Sunderland being rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.

In the 55 previous games, he scored 19 goals after debuting against Sweden in 2004.

He's joined by four uncapped members of the squad, in James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond (Southampton), Michael Keane (Burnley) and Michail Antonio (West Ham) as well as Jake Livermore who has a single cap to his name.

Uncapped Michael Keane is also involved.

Luke Shaw, who has only played twice since December and 19 year old Marcus Rashford are both included in a squad that is devoid of most of its big names due to injury.
