Vauxhall to end Home Nations sponsorship

UK Car manufacturer Vauxhall motors are to end their sponsorship of the home nations football teams after the 2018 world cup.

The deal was thought to be around £5m-£6m a year, which started in 2011 as the lead sponsor for each national team.

In a statement Vauxhall released, they said "Since 2011, Vauxhall has been very proud to be the lead sponsor for each of the four home nations football associations (FAs), the first time this has ever been undertaken by a major organisation."

They added that they had "agreed to explore other opportunities to continue its relationship with the FAs beyond the conclusion of the existing contracts."

Each FA is confident that Vauxhall will stay invovled at a lower level, but the search for a replacement major sponsor must be a priority over the next 12 months.
