Ronald Koeman sacked

Everton have sacked manager Ronald Koeman after their 5-2 defeat by Arsenal yesterday.

Ronald Koeman lasted 47 games at Everton since
arriving in June 2016
A statement said the club "would like to express their gratitude to Ronald for the service he has given to the club over the past 16 months".

The Toffees slipped to 18th in the Premier League and have won just two of their nine league games this season, after investing heavily in their squad over the summer.

"I still believe I can change the whole situation," Koeman had said on Sunday after the heavy defeat.

After guiding his team to a seventh place finish in the Premier League last season he guided them into Europe, but a poor start in all competitions has left them bottom of group E after three games.

Despite the bad start to the season, Koeman leaves Everton with the second best win percentage (40%) of the past 27 years, with only David Moyes having a slightly better (41%).
