Jenny Gunn chipped in with top scorer Alyssa Healy (24), then routed the dangerous lower order to seal the win with an impressive 4-13.
England's middle order stood strong in the first innings; Sarah Taylor (30), Natalie Sciver (40) and Brunt all scored at more than a run a ball as only Meghan Schutt: 2-16 came out with any good bowling figures for the Southern Stars.
As was in the first T20 that sealed the Ashes for Australia, Beth Mooney (17) and Healy started their innings quickly, putting on 45 in the powerplay before Mooney was run out by Gunn.
From there, the Aussies were reduced to 65-5, then 112 all out as they fell to a comprehensive 40 run defeat over a much improved England side.
However the tourists can't regain the Women's Ashes on this tour, but victory in the final T20 will tie the series at 8-8 points, which is a remarkable achievement for any England side that tours Australia.
