Monday morning headlines

Tony Pulis has been sacked by West Brom and Jason Gillespie hired as the new Sussex head coach in the main news.

Jana Novotna has died aged 49.
Former Wimbledon champion Jana Novotna has also unfortunately passed away after losing her battle with cancer. Just 49 she won the women's singles title in 1998 after being a losing finalist twice before.

Novotna captured the hearts of fans when she burst into tears after losing to Steffi Graf in 1993 and was consoled by the Duchess of Kent.

In other news, Pulis was sacked after not winning a single premier league in 10 attempts.

He had managed to lift the relegation battling side to mid table security in his tenure at the club, but recent form hasn't inspired confidence from fans or ultimately, the owners.

Gillespie's decision is a complete turn around on his decision at the end of the 2016 season when he left Yorkshire after his family moved back to Australia, making it impractical for him to coach in England full time.

This will be alongside his Big Bash role as head coach of Adelaide Strikers, which he will continue with in the coming season.
