Arsenal reach Carabao Cup final

Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1 after a goalless first leg to book a place in the final at Wembley against Manchester City.

Chelsea did take the lead through Eden Hazard, but an Antonio Rudiger own goal evened things up at half time. Then with just under an hour played, Granit Xhaka's strike sealed his side's place in the final.

Just two days after the transfer of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United, Arsene Wenger said his side played with "more clarity," as they reach the final of the only domestic trophy the veteran manager hasn't won in his 21 years at the club.

With the club out of the FA Cup, sixth in the Premier League and struggling in Europe, this is seemingly the only chance of an honour this season.

This could be Arsenal's fourth trophy in just the past five seasons, in a period of supporter unrest this return is more than credible for the North London club.
