New Nations League groups announced

The new UEFA Nations League groups have been drawn, placing England with Spain and Croatia in League A.

Wales and Republic of Ireland are joined by Denmark in League B group while Northern Ireland have Austria and Bosnia & Herzegovina in theirs.

Scotland are placed in League C with Albania and Israel in their group.

The tournament starts in September this year and is aiming to reduce the number of friendly matches played in the International calendar.

England's last competitive meeting with Spain was in 1996, where they won on penalties while their last two games with Croatia, almost 10 years ago, were both victories.

The sides in each group will play home and away fixtures in a 10-week period between September and November this year, the winners of the group promoted to a higher tier and the team finishing bottom dropping down.

The winners of the four groups in the top tier will advance to a knockout finals event played in the summer's between World Cup and European Championship years, to find an overall Nations League Champion.
