The 6' 8" International has been a key part of the Australian team that has just won the T20 Tri-Series against England and New Zealand, finishing on Wednesday.
Taking 11 wickets for Adelaide Strikers in BBL07, who are incidentally coached by former Yorkshire head coach Jason Gillespie, the 23-year-old has since made his debut for Australia.
Alongside Kane Williamson he becomes Yorkshire's second overseas T20 signing for the 2018 season.
After Adil Rashid's decision to only play white-ball cricket for his county, Yorkshire effectively have three T20 specialists in their squad - increasing hopes they can finally win the Twenty20 competition.
"It'll be a great experience and hopefully an exciting few weeks," Billy said.
"It's a huge club with great history and tradition and I've only heard positive things from the guys who have been there in the past."
