The world champion pairing, ended 0.86 seconds behind the paralympic defending champions Henrieta Farkasova from Slovakia.
This is Knight's second Paralympic Games but Wild is making his debut.
The other GB pairing of Menna Fitzpatrick and Jen Kehoe crashed early on, but were able to make their way back down unhurt.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Knight said: "I can't stop smiling. It is the best feeling in the world,"
