This did mean that World Cup winners Sarah Taylor and Katherine
Brunt were both left out.
Bowler Brunt, who has a back injury and Taylor has been rested.
Mark Robinson said the tour was "always targeted" as a period for Taylor to "focus on her well-being".
The new call-ups did mean that Georgia Elwiss, Laura Marsh and Lauren Winfield had no place in the squad and are expected to use the time off to prepare for the English summer.
With International series against New Zealand and South Africa coming up and the ICC T20 World Cup, it seems the England staff want to explore as many options as possible.
The tour, starting on 22 March involves a T20 tri-series with the hosts and Australia, followed by three one-day internationals against India.
