England make Womens World cup final

England sealed their place in the final of the competition by hammering an Indian team that never recovered from its collapse of 8-23.

Nat Sciver (52*) and wicket-keeper Amy Jones (53*) put on a unbroken third-wicket partnership of 92 to punish the Indian attack and guide their side into a second final in as many years.

This was after the bowlers managed to drag India back to 112 all out, from a strong position of 89-2.

Captain Heather Knight took 3-9, while Kirstie Gordon and Sophie Ecclestone picked up two apiece, alongside an unbelievable three run-outs.

There were a few nerves when Tammy Beaumont and Danni Wyatt fell early, but Jones and Sciver eased their way to the win.

Earlier Australia had hammered hosts and holders West Indies as they beat them by 71 runs to set up yet another England v Australia fixture in a world cup.

The final on Saturday night will be a very different prospect but Knight's team should be quietly confident of coming away with a fourth World T20 title.
