The ECB have held talks to introduce their new city-based tournament as a 100 ball format.
The idea would see 15 six-ball overs, as normal, then a final 10-ball over to finish the innings, meaning it would be 20 balls shorter than traditional T20 matches. It's though that it would attract new audiences to the tournament, the first of its kind in England and Wales.

Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, London, Manchester, Nottingham and Southampton are host cities for the competition, starting in 2020.
London will have two teams, at Lords and The Oval while the other cities will use their International grounds as bases.
The new competition will take place alongside the existing T20 Blast which is expected to be unaffected by the proposed format changes.
The brand-new tournament will have both men's and women's teams that share the same format and team identities, differing from the IPL and following Cricket Australia's lead in the Big Bash.
The proposition would be popular with broadcasters, with the board of the competition unanimously supporting the idea.
The concept will need some development, but the future is exciting for one-day cricket in England and Wales.
