'The Best' awards in London saw Modric take the award ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah.
The 33-year-old won his third straight Champions League in May with Real, before guiding Croatia to their first ever World Cup final in July.
After being named the World Cup's best player, this is the second award Luka has recieved from FIFA in 2018, surely he is cemented as one of the best play-makers in world football at the moment.
The award is voted for by national team coaches and captains alongside respected journalists and fans.
Other Award winners included Mohamed Salah taking home the Puskas award for best goal, French head coach Didier Deschamps was named Coach of the year while the Women's player of the year award went to Marta of Brazil.
